A Collection of 19th Century to Modern-Era Poster Masterpieces This collection brings together many posters which have brightened the atmosphere of street corners around the world. Posters, while being used as practical means of advertising, are also works of art. They are well known as media that directly link the artist with a mass audience. This exhibition brings together 127 works of 78 artists selected from the Suntory Museum ‘Tempozan’ in Osaka – world-renowned for its collection of over 15,000 posters. The exhibition features such grand-masters as Lautrec, Bonnard, Klimt, Dali and Tsuguharu Foujita, as well as the masterpieces of graphic designers Mucha, Cassandre, Cheret, along with modern works by Hockney and Warhol. So come along and enjoy this stylish collection of gorgeous retro and modern works that transcend space and time. |

| Gallery Talk and Quick Guide There will be a guided tour of the exhibition every Sunday (excluding Aug 19th). Dates are July 29, August 5,12,26, September 2,9,16,23 All guided tours begin at 2pm and last one hour. English interpreting will be available on September 2nd. Sign language interpreting is available on September 9th (only 30mins). Please meet directly in the exhibition room. Lecture Chief curator of Suntory Museum ‘Tempozan’, Akira Tomita, will give a lecture on the charms of poster art. Time: 2pm, 19th August 2007 Fee: Free Place: 2nd Floor Lecture Room Let’s make a moving poster! We will make original umbrellas using ‘Tent Art’. With the help of Turner Colours Pty Ltd, you will be able to make a unique parasol! Place: 1st Floor Craft Room 3 Time: 2-4pm 29th July Participants: Elementary School Students Numbers: 30 people Fee: 300 yen Please book by phone after June 29th Child-Care Services Child Care services provided by trained professionals are available to careers who would like to view the exhibitions at leisure. Bookings must be made in advance. Please ring and we will send you an application form. The service will also be available on the movie-viewing days, so please feel free to make use of this service. Participants: Family of those who are viewing the exhibition or watching the film. Children must be over 6 months and under elementary school age. Maximum participants are 10 children at a time. Date: Sunday August 12th, Friday September 7th until Monday 10th. Hours are 10am until noon, and 13:30 until 15:40. Note that August 12th will be only in the afternoon from 13:00 until 16:00. Deadline: Applications close on August 5th for Aug 12th customers, and September 1st for September 7th customers. Our restaurant, ‘Villa Vitis Galleria’ will present a special menu themed upon the exhibition, and will also hold a Suntory Premium Malt’s festival during the exhibition period. |

| Film Presentation KLIMT We will present a viewing of the film ‘Klimt’ – a joint production between Austria, France, Germany and the UK. 97mins, colour, 35mm. Directed by Raoul Ruiz, starring John Malkovich. Time: Opens at 1pm for viewings at 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30 Fee: 1000 yen For those with an entry ticket to the exhibition, holders of KoMPal Cards, or Yearly passes, entry is 800yen. Place: Art Gallery Hall Set in late 19th century Vienna, this movie is about an artist envied by the era. It depicts Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), depicting fragments of his life in a dream-like film. There is also an appearance made by Egon Schiele (1890-1918).
